Flanders Opera is not only Flanders' single opera house, with two magnificent buildings in Antwerp and Ghent, but also a main player in the international field. It is our aim to bring contemporary music theatre, dealing with themes that are relevant for people of our day and time. We perform both unknown repertoire (contemporary and baroque) and the famous classics, but always in an original and fire new way. To achieve all this, we choose to work with promising talent from Belgium and abroad. Many of them are making or have made their name at the big houses afterwards. Except for scenic opera productions, Flanders opera also presents some operas in concert version, a concert cycle, a series of song recitals (entitled 'Great Voices') and a series of lunchtime concerts.
